Glass art beads are tiny sculptures born from fire
Each bead shaped by hand as molten glass softens and swirls in the flame. Using Italian Moretti glass, known for its rich colour and beautiful clarity, Kathleen melts and winds the glass around a mandrel, layering hues, adding details, and sometimes incorporating sterling silver, gold foil and cubic zirconia's to create soft shimmer and organic reactions within the bead.
This technique, often called lampworking, has roots stretching back thousands of years to ancient Egypt and Venice, where artisans first discovered how heat, colour, and chemistry could transform simple glass into wearable art. Today, every bead still carries that lineage of craft and alchemy.
A blend of tradition, technique, and the artist’s own imagination.
A glass‑bead artist’s studio is its own kind of enchanting mess — jars of colour crowding the benches, tools scattered like half‑finished thoughts, and tiny sparkles hiding in unexpected places.
In the centre of it all, molten glass becomes a living thing, soft and glowing, ready to fuse with creativity, colour, and the quiet alchemy of chemical reactions. It’s a space where heat meets imagination, where accidents turn into ideas, and where every bead is born from a little bit of magic.

Freshwater pearls are like tiny drops of moonlit water — soft, luminous, and naturally imperfect in the most beautiful way.
They’re often seen as symbols of gentleness, emotional clarity, and quiet inner strength, making them a favourite for pieces that feel tender, feminine, and deeply personal.
Swarovski and Czech crystals are known for their brilliant, precise sparkle — tiny facets cut to catch the light with a clarity that feels almost ethereal.
Swarovski crystals are crafted in Austria with exceptional precision, while traditional Czech crystals are made in Bohemia, a region famous for glassmaking for centuries. Both are often seen as symbols of radiance, creativity, and a touch of glamour, adding a luminous, uplifting energy to any piece they adorn.
Semi‑precious gemstones are little pieces of the earth’s own artistry — formed over thousands of years, each with its own colour, texture, and quiet energy.
From soft pastels to deep, moody hues, they’re loved for their natural beauty and the sense of grounding, clarity, or calm they’re believed to bring. Because no two stones ever form the same way, they’re often seen as symbols of individuality, intuition, and the unique stories we carry.
